"100"
Originally aired September 23rd, 1995
"Sisters" was the creation of CowLip Productions (that's Ron Cowen and Dan Lipman), that aired from 1991 to 1996. It followed on the heels of the succesful yuppie drama "thirtysomething", even borrowing from its cast, with much the same feel to it. The real distinction from the other show was its humor and a poignant magical quality: the characters were regularly confronted and challenged by younger versions of themselves, and often were transported by dream sequences and daytime reveries. The producers had an extensive theatrical background and they drew upon this to extend the action beyond the usual domestic settings of nighttime soaps.

In september of '95, the show began its 6th season, but with the announcement by Sela Ward, the show's de facto main star, that this would be her last one, the writing was on the wall.

For the moment, however, there was much to celebrate: the season's first episode would be the magical number 100, the traditional minimum needed to sell a series into syndication .

Here, NBC network chief Warren Littlefield joins in the celebration.

Swoosie Kurtz, with Patricia Kalember and Sela Ward.
