"A Kiss So Deadly"

The gals spend a typical day at the beach, limbering up for a run. Notice that they never actually go in the water, which is an important detail, metaphorically.

Where there are chicks, there are bird-watchers.

The girls shrug him off as another creep. But this guy really is a bird-watcher, following the seagulls along the shore.

Amanda's used to this, so she brushes it off and challenges June to a race.

Catherine's still not used to it all. There's something more going on here, that she can't quite put her finger on.

Like Amanda said earlier, who knows what's lurking in the bushes unseen?
Later, the girls compare notes on the stalker, and when Catherine's dad calls yet again, she mentions him. Before she can finish her sentence, he's already running towards his red sports car. Tom hastily explains to his wife about a "Peeping Tom" (note the name!) at the girl's place. "Shouldn't the police do that?" she wonders. "It may come to that" he tells her.

Tom arrives at the condo, and Catherine tries to deflate the situation: "Well, it's hard to tell from here if he was really looking at us or I was just being paranoid. But I guess that's true with a lot of things, huh?"
Amanda says she didn't see the "Peeping Tom"'s face.
Tom: "But he walked away as soon as he looked at you, right?"
Amanda's flustered by the irony--he's concerned about a stalker who won't take no for an answer, while he's doing the exact same thing himself. She gets ready to leave. "I'll walk you to your car!" says Tom.

Barely out of earshot, Tom tries to set up another encounter with Amanda, as Catherine listens in. Amanda's not interested, but he won't take no for an answer.
Amanda: "How about we do it right here, right now, but you have to promise me you won't bother me anymore after this." He makes no promises, but accepts the dare of risky sex right near his daughter's apartment.
Though Catherine didn't hear the details of their conversation, she got the idea they were friendly. She asks her boyfriend if he thinks it's possible her dad has a crush on Amanda. "Who knows? Any man could get a crush on a good body," he says, eyeing hers up and down.

Catherine and June engage in some friendly bickering over leaving leftovers in the fridge too long. Stop obsessing, June says, and just throw it away! The phone rings and June picks it up, still laughing: "Neuroses Central!!" she announces.

Mr. Deese quickly hangs up. "Neuroses Central" is right!
